For a private house in Brussels, a 45 m² living space was prepared with underfloor heating and then filled with a local soil mix. After compaction tests, the floor was leveled to the exact height and compacted several times with different machines until it was 2 mm above the final floor level. After sanding and polishing, the floor was treated with a natural wax emulsion and finished with natural oil.
The floors can be manufactured with various natural pigments and colored stones. This technique can also be used to fabricate high quality furniture surfaces.
