KING SALMAN PARK VISITOR CENTER - LEHM TON ERDE
The King Salman Park (KSP) Visitor Center in Riyadh is the first building completed as part of the city's ambitious park development. Spanning 16 km², the park will host several cultural facilities. Designed by David Adjaye Associates, the Visitor Center features an overarching roof structure beneath which several rammed earth pavilions were constructed. Excavated on-site material was used to produce over 6,000 m² of rammed earth wall surfaces. Over 120 unskilled workers were trained to fabricate, process, install, and retouch the rammed earth walls, making this project potentially the largest contemporary non-stabilized rammed earth construction site worldwide.
