KING SALMAN PARK VISITOR CENTER - LEHM TON ERDE

The King Salman Park (KSP) Visitor Center in Riyadh is the first completed building in the city's ambitious park development. Spanning 16 km², the park will feature several cultural facilities. Designed by David Adjaye Associates, the Visitor Center includes an overarching roof structure with multiple rammed earth pavilions beneath it. LehmTonErde was contracted to provide expertise to ensure the quality of all earthworks on-site. Excavated on-site material was used to create over 6,000 m² of rammed earth wall surfaces. More than 120 unskilled workers were trained to fabricate, process, install, and retouch the rammed earth walls, making this project potentially the largest contemporary non-stabilized rammed earth construction site in the world.
